FORMAT:There will be 5 rounds of policy debate this weekend. Friday will be ONLINE and Saturday will be IN PERSON. Varsity must enter for both days, but JV and Novice (A, B, C) may enter for both or either day of competition. Policy prep time limit will be 8 minutes. Novice packet information is here. THE SCHEDULE FOR SATURDAY HAS SLIGHTLY CHANGED - PLEASE LOOK BELOW. Friday online, Saturday in person.

Drop off location: Drop off in the HIGH SCHOOL PARKING LOT. All teams should proceed through the high school to the cafeteria.

AWARDS:All finalists will receive awards. We hope to hold it at 5:00 pm on Saturday.

Resolutions: Policy debate will debate the 2022-23 national resolution:

The United States federal government should substantially increase its security cooperation with the North Atlantic Treaty Organization in one or more of the following areas: artificial intelligence, biotechnology, cybersecurity

Food & Drink:In the past, Highland has had concessions available for purchase. Due to COVID complications the tournament will be following the UDL model of pizza, water, and snacks available for 'free' to debaters (part of the entry fee) but no concessions available for purchase. There will be other snacks provided throughout the day.

Round 2 6:15-8:00

Saturday (in person) (when you arrive go to the cafeteria)

Buses arrive 9:00

First Pairing: 9:30

Round 1: 10:00-11:45

Lunch: 11:45am-12:30pm

Round 2: 12:30-2:15

Round 3: 2:45-4:30
